"Miss Innocence" était un spectacle que Florenz Ziegfeld a conçu pour sa partenaire romantique Anna Held, et c'est devenu l’un des plus grands succès de la saison avec une première série de 176 représentations. Le spectacle fut un vrai événement, et le New York Tribune a rapporté que « la police devait maintenir l’ordre dans la file jusqu'au box-office ». Après la série de Broadway, le spectacle a commencé une tournée nationale, avant de retourner à son domicile original du New York Theatre le 27 septembre 1909, pour un engagement limité de 16 représentations, puis a repris sa tournée.
